Nike is the epitome of sports apparel right now. They have literally dominated the last couple years in all aspects of sports, from high school to college to even professional level. And one of the reasons why because of the ads like these. The design is very original and sleek. The balance of the picture with the grey area, and of course the highlight from the jersey of the University of Oregon. A very simple slogan, "Oregon is Faster" simply puts that Oregon is faster because of Nike. Of course, the player, DeAnthony Thomas is one of the fastest players in college football. The design of matching uniforms makes it that much more appealing to those who want to compete at that Division level or even professional level. Because of this design in this ad, Nike will continue make to make leaps and bounds in the sporting industry. This would be a good design in my opinion.
Of course, when you are first in competition you hope to be a close second or third. Under Armour at one point was on the rise of becoming the face of sports apparel at one point. But they seem to lost their touch with certain ads like these. Nothing special, just a college football player, so called "flexing" for the camera with football stadium in the background. These simple ads do not excite the consumer to step up and want to buy the Under Armour product. No special design or anything. In more recent ads, Under Armour has been duplicating Nike, with the new jersey and design. This would be a bad design in my opinion.
