This image is more speechless to me because of how personal it relates to me. This picture is more than football, it is more than high school kids playing sports, this is the opportunity to help shape their lives for the rest of their lives.
First, one of the first things I notice is the contrast of the picture. The sky and the lighting from the dark clouds and the shinning light coming from the back. The dark clouds represent the burden of hard work that is needed to be successful. The distractions that pull their attention, such as academics, family, friends, or whatever it may be. There are a lot of stress built up, time consumed, and responsibility given to these young men. But, the light represents the accomplishments by these young men. The finish line and the happiness that comes with it. The winning games, scholarships earned, brotherhood established.
Second, the texture could be felt through sight. As you see the grass you can definitely feel the texture. The football pads look heavy, and they look tired. The sky looks heavy as it is cloudy.
This picture represents the goals that are accomplished, hopes that are established, limits that are meant to be broken, and the field of dreams are created. This is the opportunity of a lifetime, again to some this may just be high school football or just another sport. But, if you honestly look deeper, there is a much deeper silver lining then that. Nobody could ever see the heart of those around us, unless you know their story and watch their actions.
